This deciduous fern emerges a delicate light green and hardens off to a deep, glossy green with blackish scales on the stipe. It has a very upright habit and tends to form clumps that may spread in favorable conditions. It performs well in warm, humid climates, but prefers to stay lightly moist rather than wet in cooler climates.
