Bronze-Stemmed European Royal Fern (Osmundastrum regalis var. regalis 'Bronze Stipe')

10.00

Synonym Note: Many ferns of the genus Osmunda have recently been reclassified as Osmundastrum

When sowing spore of Osmundastrum regalis var regalis 'Purpurascens' sporlings occur that revert back to having the typical green stipe and rachis, but there are also a few that are neither green nor purple and exhibit a lovely bronze-gold coloration. I spent many years sorting these out from the others and finally decided that they merited a designated name of their own hence the descriptive label of 'Bronze Stipe'
