Dwarf Slender Male Fern (Dryopteris filix-mas 'Linearis Congesta')

8.00

The combination of the very slightly depauperate pinnules combined with congestion gives this linear male fern an attractive crispy beaded look. The narrowed pinnules are forced to curl their margins under but their tips curl up stiffly erect. This is another rock garden subject from Reginald Kaye's nursery. The sporelings have missing and irregular developed pinnae which is the nature of their 'Lineare' heritage. I throw away the most defective forms and only send out what are most uniform in character.
