Marginal Wood Fern (Dryopteris marginalis)

8.00

These extremely hardy ferns do very well at the margins of forested areas and sport handsome, somewhat narrow fronds with broad pinnules.  The pinnae have a tendency to arch upward from the rachis, giving the fronds an attractive wing-like appearance.  One specimen in our garden has proved to be more drought tolerant than previously anticipated, surviving several dry summers by granite stones at the edge of a sitka spruce outcropping with minimal watering.

Frond Condition:  Evergreen
Mature Height:  2'
Origin:  Asia
Cultural Requirements:  Some Shade, Partly Shaded, Evenly Moist to Dryish
USDA Zones:  4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
